Why you can’t make a folder named ‘CON’…..??

Nobody can directly create a folder named ‘con’
At Microsoft, the whole team and Bill Gates could not answer this.
Everytime u create a folder with the name ‘con’ it gets renamed to ‘New Folder’
But, there is no mystery behind this and the Microsoft Team knows this very well.
You cannot create  a folder with 13 names and i will tell you the names and reasons today.
You cannot do this because these are the reserved keywords used in DOS.
Below is the list :-
Name                           Function
CON                             Keyboard and Display
PRN                              System List Device, usually a parellel port
AUX                             Auxiliary Device, usually a serial port
CLOCK$                      System real-time clock
NUL                              Bit-Bucket Device
A:-Z:                              Drive Letters
COM1                           First Serial Communications Port
COM2                           Second Serial Communications Port
COM3                           Third Serial Communications Port
COM4                           Fourth Serial Communications Port
LPT1                             First Parallel Printer Port
LPT2                             Second Parallel Printer Port
LPT3                             Third Parallel Printer Port

If u are creating a folder with any of these names then the name will change to default ==> New Folder
However, this can be created using ALT+0160 and ALT+255 followed by the name you want.
This can also be done using CMD.
For CMD, type cmd in your run box and then type
MD\\.\D:\CON
This will create a folder named CON in your D: drive
To remove this, type RD\\.\D:\CON
However, don’t use this on your drive in which windows is installed(usually C:) because the system might become unstable.
Enjoy this exposed mystery to fool your friends with all the 13 names….. :D
